Temporary parking during the construction on Main St. can be accessed via Lewis Street Alley by turning from N 3rd St.
Take Light Plant Rd. by making a left hand turn while driving North down Hwy. 84 towards Pagosa Springs. Using this route avoids a common traffic backup that occurs at the intersection between Hwy. 84 and Hwy. 160. When you get to the end of Light plant you can continue straight to the heart of downtown Pagosa at the stoplight on Main St. or take a left towards Apache St. which leads to Trujillo Rd.
Take this road in order to get uptown near City market while skipping all of the traffic that regularly occurs during the summer through downtown and uptown. It's very possible that this route could save you upwards of 20 minutes if the traffic is particularly bad.
Putt Hill is probably the most congested area in Pagosa, and on holidays like 4th of July it's not to unusual to get stuck on that little hill for half and hour or more.
